You are looking at an an antique cast metal floor lamp base with a marble and serpent design. The base shows some wear such as slight corrosion and may require further cleaning. There is a hole under the marble piece that looks as it could be a casting flaw. When the base is assembled with the marble piece on top, the hole is not visible.
