Vintage lamp by Japanese designer Isao Hosoe with many design awards. The light itself works well and the switch moves up and down for lower or higher intensity. The movement at the base moves smoothly but the movement of the head of the lamp does not move as intended, which is to stay level as the lamp is moved downward, and it moves slightly side to side. From what I can tell, the circular plastic piece inside, something like a ball and socket joint, has been damaged. I’m unsure if the screw inserted is a prior repair attempt.
