1930s Lucas Rear Lamps. Rare to find a pair of early rear lamps like this, which are a great size for modern use. Plate lenses are missing. Otherwise appear original – note one specled red glass appears to have been installed the wrong way round (smooth size outwards), which is why the colous look different between each lamp in the above images. Vintage SMITHS SIGNPOST LAMP with Rear View Mirror and Bracket. Late 1920s or early 30s according to period Smiths MA adverts. Plating appears original chrome, so this one is 1930+. This lovely lamp is in good condition, as is the mirror (slightly cloudy in places as you would expect, but perfectly usable). The lamp’s domed glass (original) is is slightly loose and not fully clamped by the bezel ring – I suspect it would have had a piece of rubber around it originally (soon rectified with a piece of foam rubber or similar). The mounting bracket appears original but looks to have been strengthened with braize. A fantastic period accessory, that is also a really useful addition to a pre-war motor car. Lamp approx 5.75 inches diameter, and the mirror is 3 inches diameter. Not too clear in the photos, but the’Smiths MA London’ roundel/badge is present and correct.
