Lamp is in working condition. Vintage all original double student lamp with yellow shades. One shade has a rim chip and crack as seen in the pictures. The tall metal piece with the loop at the top has a loose fitting and moves back and forth. Despite its issues it lights and displays beautifully. Again, please be aware of the problems with this lamp and feel free to ask questions.

These are real butterflies in the prescolite shades. They are fully preserved and easy to see when lit. The control knob allows both or one lamp to be lit. It is a three way knob so either left or right can be lit independently. I cleaned it the best I could but it may need professional cleaning so the paint on the base does not come off. It has minor scratches. The lights are moveable to angle the shades. Some positions do not hold but they would not be considered “loose”. Good condition for age. Works as it should, regular outlet. The prescolite shades are pretty interesting. Not quite plastic, not a resin, more like a casein. The butterflies are amazing. They must be as old as the lamp; 75 years old? This would make an incredible gift for your entomologist or butterfly collecting special person in your life.

Genuine Emeralite Desk Lamp. Nice original Emeralite lamp in as-found condition. From a large antique lighting collection in Upstate NY – see and watch our store for more Emeralite lamps. This lamp is for parts or repair. It is untested, and one of the sockets has detached from the arm. The lamp is wired, however if restoring, we suggest rewiring. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS DOUBLE GLOBE, GONE WITH THE WIND. THE FITTINGS ARE TRUE CAST BRASS. AND IT IS STYLED LIKE AN OIL OR KEROSENE LAMP. THE GLASS GLOBE WAS MADE IN A DOUBLE MOLD. AND WHILE I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS HAND PAINTED, UPON CLOSE INSPECTION. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IT IS PROBABLY MIXTION – A COMBINATION OF HAND PAINTING. AND ENAMELING OVER TRANSFER-WARE. IT IS MISSING ITS HURRICANE SHADE AND UPPER GLASS GLOBE. AS WELL AS THE ELECTRICAL WIRE, WHICH WILL NEED TO BE REWIRED. TOP GLOBE WOULD NEED TO HAVE A 4 DIAMETER TO SIT PROPERLY ON THE LIP. INTERNAL HURRICANE CHIMNEY LIKELY NEEDS TO BE 2.5″ IN DIAMETER AS A 3″ DIAMETER CHIMNEY IS SLIGHTLY TOO LARGE TO SIT PROPERLY. JUST PLAIN STUNNING DECORATION, AND NO FLAWS THAT I CAN SEE.
