These are real butterflies in the prescolite shades. They are fully preserved and easy to see when lit. The control knob allows both or one lamp to be lit. It is a three way knob so either left or right can be lit independently. I cleaned it the best I could but it may need professional cleaning so the paint on the base does not come off. It has minor scratches. The lights are moveable to angle the shades. Some positions do not hold but they would not be considered “loose”. Good condition for age. Works as it should, regular outlet. The prescolite shades are pretty interesting. Not quite plastic, not a resin, more like a casein. The butterflies are amazing. They must be as old as the lamp; 75 years old? This would make an incredible gift for your entomologist or butterfly collecting special person in your life.
