This ornate mid-1800’s oil lamp has a rare key-wind clockwork pump mechanism and great jester face design on the exterior. Measures about 12″ tall by 5″ wide in total when assembled. The burner/shade holder/wick raiser is missing at the top. The main part of the clockwork mechanism (marked “Lagrange”) is in good condition for its age and looks like all the parts are there, although it would need cleaning and servicing to get it running and the key is missing. In the interior of the lamp the oil reservoir and pump suffered very heavy rust and corrosion, to the point that the bottom of the tank detached and some of the parts of the pump totally corroded away. I removed the loose flaking rust and debris, but the section still needs cleaning or replacement. Please note: I showed the lamp held together in the first few photos to show how it looks assembled, but it is basically a bunch of parts that need to be put back together. Otherwise, some soldering alone would return it to non-working display condition and if the mechanism was removed it would be fairly straightforward to add a socket and electrify.
