Nice group of vintage 1930’s/1940’s/1950’s or older coal mine miner mining items including three unused near mint Justrite ten ounce #77 carbide pocket cans can. They hold a full day’s supply. The strong durable and convenient cans are concave or curved shaped to fit the boot or hip pocket. All three are marked Justrite, Trade Mark, Pat. Applied For, Made In U. The three cans would have held solid carbide fuel for use in carbide lamps. They were manufactured by Justrite Manufacturing Company, Chicago, Illinois. The 3 cans have slide open tops and show some very, very minor storage wear as pictured. Carbide lamp parts include 14 loose unused 1 7/8″ diameter black rubber gaskets, two boxes of “One Dozen Auto-Lite Flints, For All Makes Of Carbide Lamps, Packed In Capsules, Keep In a Cool, Dry Place” with 16 unused flints in plastic capsules (most flints have disintegrated into pieces/powder), one thin wood wooden tube box holder with three unused metal needle wire tip reamer cleaners, original handwritten price list for lamp parts and four unopened F/S factory sealed MIB mint in box first aid items – two are marked “MSA, Mine Safety Appliances Company, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania” – “Merthiolate Swab” and “Gauze Compress”, one marked “Scott Aviation, Lancaster, New York, Gauze Compress” and one marked “Marion Health And Safety, Inc.
