Vintage Chrome Airplane Smoker’s Stand Ashtray Lamp Base – Parts/Repair. This is a striking mid-century chrome floor-standing ashtray base with a built-in airplane motif-likely from the 1940s-50s. It features a cast metal airplane at the top, decorative ribbed column, ornate pressed glass center, and chrome platform designed to hold ashtrays or drinks. Not in working order – no socket or wiring in the plane; base has some wiring and components but is incomplete. Missing or damaged parts: Only one propeller is intact. The other is damaged/missing a blade. A possible hairline crack is visible on the airplane tail-unclear if it’s in the paint or metal. Chrome has notable wear, pitting, and surface rust throughout. Please refer closely to all photos. Glass swirl midsection intact with attractive brown/red veining, though metal base ring shows corrosion. Airplane appears to be cast aluminum or pot metal; 3-part body with removable propellers. Tiered circular tray with four round cutouts (originally ashtray or glass holders). Ribbed metal upright column with deco styling. Heavily weighted base with glass insert and chrome detailing. Unique display or decor piece for aviation or retro bar collectors. Repurpose as a plant stand, lamp restoration project, or quirky barware holder. Excellent parts donor for restoring other smoker’s stands from the same era. Refer to photos for scale. Approximate height shown with tape in image. Welcome to The Gay Delphinium! I offer a variety of vintage items, such as books, toys, and more.
